Tapping Into the Power of Youth in Adams County

What is the Adams County Youth Council?

The Adams County Youth Council is a group of young leaders, ages 14-19, who are creating a better tomorrow by getting youth voices heard today. ACYC's goals, as part of the Adams County Youth Initiative, are to decrease delinquency and substance use and increase high school graduation rates. Members will have the opportunity to develop leadership and communication skills, participate and lead community service projects, lead a countywide youth forum, and prepare and deliver a presentation to Adams County leaders on youth issues.  The Council is dedicated to:

  • Promoting Community Change
  • Supporting Youth Achievement
  • Creating a Forum for Youth and
  • Promoting Positive Opportunities for Youth

What is the Commitment?

One year commitment to attend monthly meetings held the second Thursday of the month from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and community service projects, as needed.
